Early lead evaporates for BombersJune 12, 2019
From Herald Staff Reports
After a four-run fourth inning, things were looking pretty good for the Dubois County Bombers in their first-ever meeting against Franklin. However, the Duelers scored six runs combined in the seventh and eighth innings to rally and send Dubois County to their fourth straight defeat.
The fourth inning scoring surge started with a Chase Hug double as he was brought in by an RBI single from Matt Ellis for the first run of the night. Britton Graham drove in two runs in the inning with a two-RBI single.
Hug and Zuriel Collins led the way with two hits each for the Bombers. John Benevolent led Franklin with two RBIs while Ethan Shelton, Joey Fletcher and Jordan Blick all also drove in runs.
Patrick Queener fell to 0-2 on the mound for Dubois County as he gave up four runs (one earned) and two hits in the loss in 1.2 innings of work. Starter Samuel Steinel pitched five scoreless innings while giving up just one hit and striking out five.
