Durcholz named September Optimist Youth of the Month

Olivia Durcholz, the daughter of Zach and Lisa Durcholz of Huntingburg, is the Huntingburg Optimist Youth of the Month for September.

At Southridge High School, Olivia is a varsity tennis player and was also the manager for the boys tennis team. She also played the alto saxophone in the band. She has been an active member of the FFA, FCA, BPA, Natural Helpers, WyldLife and Spanish Club.

Olivia has received the Presidential Scholars Award and the Principals Rising Star Award. She has been awarded the Foreign Languages Student of the Month. Last year at the Dubois County 4-H Fair, she won Supreme Showman.

Outside of school, Olivia shows her horse in barrel racing and pole bending. She also volunteers with Freedom Reins, the Huntingburg Conservation Club and the local VFW. She is very active with the county fair where she shows rabbits and horses.

Olivia plans to attend Indiana University Southeast to major in pre-pharmacy. She will then transfer to Sullivan University for pharmacy school.
