Duff woman accused of drug offenses

DUFF — A Saturday evening medical emergency in Duff put authorities in contact with a woman they arrested on drug-related allegations.

While responding at 6:35 p.m. to the medical emergency at a Duff residence, authorities viewed items consistent with drug use, according to police.

The ensuing investigation involved the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police.

Authorities who obtained search warrants for a vehicle and the residence at 6467 W. Duff Second St. reported finding syringes, legend (prescription) drugs, controlled substances, seven smoking pipes and a marijuana grinder.

Courtney M. Hochgesang, 26, 6467 W. Duff Second St., was taken into custody as a result of the investigation.

Authorities booked Hochgesang into the Dubois County Security Center at 11:21 p.m. on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony unlawful possession of syringes and legend drugs, plus misdemeanor counts of possession of controlled substances and possession of paraphernalia.

Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services and Huntingburg Volunteer Fire Department first responders assisted with the medical emergency portion of the incident.
