Duff man’s car collides with Holland-area deer

From Local Sources

HOLLAND — A Duff man’s car was towed from the scene of a Monday morning collision with a deer north of Holland.

Casey M. Mehringer, 28, Duff, was southbound on State Road 161 in a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser when the 7:40 a.m. accident occurred north of County Road 650S, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

A deputy said Mehringer’s vehicle collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the west.

The damage, estimated to have exceeded $2,500, was significant enough for the vehicle to be towed by a Sternberg Automotive Group wrecker, according to the sheriff’s department.
