Dubois sideswipe accident brings arrestMay 20, 2019

DUBOIS — An arrest followed an investigation into a Friday night mishap in Dubois.
Trenton Humbert, 28, Dubois, was eastbound on Main Street in a 2019 Toyota Camry when the 8:52 p.m. accident occurred at Third Street, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Humbert was attempting to turn north onto Third Street and made a wide turn because of the narrowness of the street.
A trailing vehicle, a 1996 Chevrolet truck driven by Nathan E. Fleck, 20, 431 E. 23rd St., Ferdinand, reportedly said he thought Humbert was going to turn south onto Third Street.
Fleck attempted to pass the Humbert Toyota and his truck sideswiped the car on its driver’s side.
Damage to the vehicles and a Main Street yard was estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
A deputy said Fleck was determined to have a blood alcohol content of .049%.
Authorities booked Fleck into the Dubois County Security Center at 11:19 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of minor consuming. He posted bond early Saturday morning.
