DUBOIS — The Dubois Branch Library has activities scheduled for December.
The library will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 25, for Christmas and Monday and Wednesday, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, for New Year’s.
Keurig’s Korner will meet after school until 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays. A snack and drink will provided. Play games, do homework or just hang out. Middle and high school students can hang out together. Students are not meeting on Dec. 3, 24 or 31.
Technology help will be provided from 10 a.m. to noon Fridays. Help will be available with any wireless devices. There will be no technology help on Dec. 20.
Little Explorers will meet from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. Stories, crafts and free play fun will be provided for infants through age 6 and their caregiver(s). Preregistration is required.
The first Saturday book sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. Books, audio books and DVDs are available.
Adult Craft: Festive Wine Bottles will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9. Repurpose old wine bottles into lighted holiday decor. The class is reserved for adults only. Preregistration is required.
The Genealogy Workshop will begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, in the Genealogy Room. Questions will be answered about research and working with family trees.
Elementary and Family Creativity Time: Fingerprint Keepsake Plate will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, and from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Each person wanting to make a craft must preregister. Sign up for one class only.
Free Play Days will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, and from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30. The community room will be set up with construction toys, coloring, playdough and more.
Puzzle Palooza I will be featured from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28. All ages are invited to get a group together or sign up individually for this first jigsaw puzzle contest. There are two categories — 550-piece puzzles for one to two members and 1,000-piece puzzles for teams of three and four. The contest starts at 10 a.m. The first team in each category that either finishes first or is closest to being done by the end wins prizes. Food and drinks will be provided throughout the day, but people may bring their own snacks. Preregister by Dec. 26. Limited seating will be available.
The End of the Month Book Club will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30. Discussion will be held on “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. Stop by the front desk to pick up a copy.
