DUBOIS — The Dubois Branch Library has activities scheduled for November.
The library will be closed on Nov. 12 for Veteran’s Day and Nov. 22-23 for Thanksgiving.
Early voting will be available at the Dubois Branch Library from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 3.
My Big Person and Me for infants through age 6 with their caregivers will be held from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays. Stories and music will be featured. Preregistration is required. Closed on Nov. 13.
The Keurig’s Korner for middle and high school students will meet every Tuesday after school until 5:30 p.m. A snack and drink will be provided. Closed on Nov. 13.
Young Adulting 101 for middle and high school students will meet every Tuesday after school until 5:30 p.m. Learn how to prepare easy food on a budget, mend cloths, make a budget and much more. Closed on Nov. 13.
Technology help will be provided from 10 a.m. to noon Fridays. Help will be available with any wireless devices.
Little Hats, Big Hearts will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1. Help the Dubois Branch Library by knitting or crocheting as many little red hats as possible by December to donate to the American Heart Association. They will then go to babies born during the month of February. It doesn’t matter if people are experienced or new to the art of knitting or crocheting.
The genealogy workshop will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, in the genealogy room. Questions will be answered about research and working with family trees.
Family Creativity Time: Snowman Canvas will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7. All ages are welcome. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Preregistration is required.
Heroes’ tree ornaments will be made at any time from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, and from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. Attendees are to bring a picture of a family member, friend or military hero and create an ornament to take home or to place on the tree.
The Saturday book sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. Books for all ages are available. Paperbacks are 25 cents; hardbacks, 50 cents; and CD’s and DVD’s, $1.
First Time Adult Crafters: Wine Bottle Craft will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. This craft is specifically for those new to the library’s adult craft classes. Preregistration is required.
Free blood pressure checks will be given from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, in the community room. The faith community nurses from Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center will offer free blood pressure checks every third Thursday of the month.
Reindeer Meet and Greet will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17. Dress up the kids and bring a camera to take pictures for the holidays with a real live reindeer.
Friends of the Dubois Library will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, in the community room. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The End of the Month Book Club will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, in the community room. “The Memory Keeper’s Daughter” by Francesca Zappia will be the book of discussion. Stop by the front desk to pick up a copy.
Adult Craft: Wine Bottle Craft will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.Thursday, Nov. 29. Adults only may attend; preregistration is required.
