DUBOIS — The Dubois Branch Library has activities scheduled for May.
The library will be closed on Friday, May 3, for staff development and Monday, May 27, for Memorial Day.
The first Saturday book sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4. Books for all ages are available.
My Big Person and Me for infants through age 6 with their caregivers will be held from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays. Stories and music will be featured. Preregistration is required. The group will not meet May 28.
The Keurig’s Korner for middle and high school students will meet every Tuesday after school until 5:30 p.m. A snack and drink will be provided. Students will not meet May 28. Special events: May crafts — Letters in a Bottle on May 7 and Nail Polish Bowls on May 14 (preregistration required). End-of-the-year celebration on Tuesday, May 21 (black light, dress in either white or neon.
Technology help will be provided from 10 a.m. to noon Fridays. Help will be available with any wireless devices. No technology help will be provided May 3 and 17.
Ageless chair yoga will be offered from 9:15 to 10 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. Preregister for the May 1 class to sign up for all May classes. There will be no classes on May 3, 29 and 31.
The genealogy workshop will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 6, in the genealogy room. Questions will be answered about research and working with family trees.
Elementary and Family Creativity Time: Family Vision Boards will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, and from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 10. All ages are welcome. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Each person wanting to make a name canvas must preregister. Sign up for one class only.
Paint like Bob Ross class will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 11. Cost of the class is $50. Use the code “DUBOIS” to get a $10 discount. The class is full. Friends of the Dubois Library will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, May 13, in the community room. Everyone is welcome. Come find out what the “Friends” are all about.
Free blood pressure checks will be given from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 17. The faith community nurses from Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center will take blood pressures.
The End-of-the-Month Book Club will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 20. Discussion will be held on “The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie” by Alan Bradley. Stop by the front desk to pick up a copy.
Summer Learning (summer reading) runs May 28 through July 19. Sign up at the library or download the Beanstack Tracker app from the library’s website to keep track of reading for a chance to win prizes.
A big book sale will take place Tuesday through Saturday, May 28 to June 1, in the community room. People may buy books all day, every day.
