DUBOIS — The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office took a Dubois-area couple into custody during the weekend on outstanding warrants.
A warrant for the arrest of Christopher C. Jones, 40, 9901 N. Hickory Grove Road, Dubois, was issued out of Dubois Circuit Court in November when Jones failed to appear at an acceptance of plea and sentencing hearing after being charged with a Level 4 felony count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
Jones was taken into custody on the warrant Friday night and was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 9:22 p.m. During a court appearance Monday, Jones’ next court date was set for Aug. 5 and he was ordered held without bond pending that hearing.
Deputies also took Jones’ wife, Chasity M. Jones, 37, also of the Hickory Grove Road address, into custody Saturday on active warrants.
Chasity Jones was arrested in May 2018, in connection with a string of burglaries in the Dubois area and placed on pretrial work release. When she failed to return to the Dubois County Community Corrections Center July 1, 2018, a warrant was issued charging her a Level 6 felony count of failure to return to lawful detention. A failure to appear warrant was also issued in the case in which she is charged with six felony counts of burglary, six counts of misdemeanor theft and misdemeanor check fraud.
Chasity Jones was booked into the security center at 10:39 p.m. Saturday on the active warrants.
