Dubois County women receive Girl Scout award

From Local Sources

EVANSVILLE — Three Dubois County Girl Scout volunteers earned national recognition as Volunteers of Excellence on Tuesday.

Sarah Leinenbach, Kim Mehringer, and Melissa Ruschau, all of Jasper, received the award, which recognizes volunteers who have contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with girls, or who have contributed outstanding service in support of the council’s mission.

The Girl Scouts of the USA Adult Awards are a way to formally recognize the contributions of volunteers whose service has been exemplary. Award recipients are nominated by their peers, reviewed and endorsed by a council committee of staff and volunteers, and approved by the Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana Board of Directors.

The contributions of all adult Girl Scout members make Girl Scouting possible for the approximately 5,000 Girl Scouts in GSSI’s 11-county area.
