Paoli man killed in Crystal-area crashJuly 31, 2018

CRYSTAL — Dubois County recorded its first roadway fatality of the year this morning in a two-vehicle crash on State Road 56 west of Crystal.
Killed in the 6:57 a.m. accident on State Road 56 near County Road 750E was Steven C. Arnold, 29, Paoli, according to Indiana State Police from the Jasper Post. Authorities who released the identity confirmed the victim’s next of kin had been notified.
Arnold was driving a silver 1998 Oldsmobile passenger car.
The other vehicle, a white 2008 Lexus SUV, was driven by Kimberly M. Robbins, 40, also of Paoli, according to police.
Robbins suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Details of the crash were not immediately available.
The highway remained closed at the crash scene nearly five hours after the accident as troopers continued processing the scene. Commercial motor vehicles are being detoured around the crash site on state roads 145 and 545.
Assisting agencies at the scene included the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department, Dubois Volunteer Fire Department, Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services and the Dubois County Coroner’s Office.
