JASPER — Police report discovering drug-related items during a Sunday night traffic stop that ended with an arrest.
A Jasper Police Department officer stopped a white passenger car in the 400 block of Third Avenue at 9:44 p.m. after noticing its license plate light was not operational.
During the stop, police alleged, two syringes and a digital pocket scale with white residue were located in the vehicle.
The driver, Dakota A. King, 25, 1340 Jackson St., Jasper, was arrested and booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:23 a.m. today on preliminary charges that included a Level 6 felony count of unlawful possession of syringes and a misdemeanor count of possession of paraphernalia. An officer also issued King a warning for the inoperable license plate light.
