HUNTINGBURG — A Spencer County man who allegedly failed to appear for a court date regarding misdemeanor marijuana and paraphernalia possession was brought to jail Saturday on a warrant issued after the no-show.
Gabriel A. McNitt, 25, 7891 E. State Road 62, Dale, was charged with the marijuana and paraphernalia counts June 1.
The Huntingburg Police Department alleged McNitt was found to possess marijuana and a grinder on March 9. A summons ordering him to appear in Dubois Superior Court in July to answer to the charges was filed June 1, according to court documents.
Court records indicate McNitt failed to appear for a July 11 initial hearing. He was then served an order to appear on Aug. 16, which was the date a warrant for his arrest was issued after another no-show.
Authorities booked McNitt into the Dubois County Security Center at 11:25 a.m. Saturday on the failure-to-appear warrant. He made an initial appearance in court Monday and had a preliminary plea of not guilty entered on his behalf by the court. His next hearing was set for Nov. 19.
McNitt posted bond Monday afternoon.
