Drug arrest follows investigation

HUNTINGBURG — A Huntingburg man who was the subject of a detainment order after a Thursday night incident was booked into jail Friday.

An investigation being conducted by the Huntingburg Police Department found officers locating Weston D. Rust, 29, 813 N. Shelby St., at a friend’s house Thursday night. Rust was reported to be semi-conscious, resulting in an ambulance being called to the scene.

During the incident, police allege methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located.

Authorities booked Rust into the Dubois County Security Center at 9:49 a.m. Friday on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
