Driving offense leads to Dubois man’s arrest

JASPER — A Monday afternoon traffic stop led to a man’s arrest on multiple charges.

A Jasper Police Department officer stopped a 2005 Acura sedan on Indiana Street south of Second Street at 2 p.m. after allegedly observing the car fail to signal an intention to turn.

The driver, Jeromy L. Perkins, 47, 6220 N. State Road 545, Dubois, was determined to have a suspended driver’s license. After a Jasper K-9 indicated on the vehicle, police reported finding 1.5 grams of marijuana, a metal smoking pipe with marijuana residue and other items of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities booked Perkins into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:53 p.m. on preliminary misdemeanor counts of driving while suspended (prior), possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
