From Local Sources

JASPER — Both motorists escaped injury in a pickup truck-versus-SUV collision Monday afternoon just west of Jasper.

Dillon R. Carpenter, 16, Jasper, was southbound on County Road 350W in a 2013 GMC Terrain when the 4:50 p.m. mishap occurred at State Road 56, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

A deputy said Carpenter stopped at the intersection with the highway but proceeded while failing to notice an eastbound 2012 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Karen S. Borden, 54, of Jasper.

The sheriff’s department deputy said Carpenter drove into the path of the Silverado causing the vehicles to collide in the intersection.

Total damage was estimated between $5,000 and $10,000 but both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.

No citations were issued.
