Driver unhurt after collision with deer

JASPER — Damage was estimated at $2,500 after an SUV collided with a deer Tuesday evening on State Road 162 east of Energy Drive.

Marcy L. Weyer, 41, of 725 Virginia St., Ferdinand, was westbound on the highway in a 2007 GMC Acadia at the time of the 7:25 p.m. encounter, according to the Jasper Police Department.

Police said Weyer was not injured when the deer ran into her vehicle’s path.
