Driver transported after crash

JASPER — One driver was transported to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center with possible injuries and another driver was treated at the scene after a crash Saturday on North County Road 350 West.

Around 9:10 a.m. Saturday, a 2016 Ford F-150 driven by Jerry Wood of Jasper and a 2009 Ford Ranger driven by Byron Jarboe of Jasper were both traveling southbound in the 1600 block of North County Road 350 West. The F-150 rear-ended the Ranger, pushing the Ranger into the Huntingburg gas regulator station on the east side of the roadway. The F-150 then traveled off the west side of the roadway and hit a mailbox. It continued south through a grassy area and stuck a Dubois REMC retaining wire. It then crossed State Road 56 and came to rest in the middle of a field just south of the state road.

Wood was transported to Memorial Hospital with possible injuries and Jarboe was treated and released at the scene.

The Jasper Police Department was assisted by Memorial EMS, Indiana State Police, the Dubois County Sheriff's Office, the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department, Uebelhor's Towing Service and Ruxer's Towing Service.

No citations were issued. Damage was estimated at $4,000 to the F-150 and $3,000 to the Ranger.
