JASPER — Police ticketed one of the motorists in a passenger-car-versus-minivan collision Sunday afternoon.
The 2:25 p.m. accident occurred in the southbound lane in the 3100 block of Newton Street, according to the Jasper Department.
Police said the accident involved a Buick LeSabre driven by Belinda D. Newton, 29, Jasper, and a maroon minivan driven by Ma Francisca Alcantara Rueda, 71, Jasper.
Newton, whose Buick was reported as totaled with $6,000 in damage, received a citation for speed too fast for weather conditions.
Damage to the Alcantara Rueda minivan was estimated at $2,000.
A Ruxer Ford wrecker towed both vehicles.
Additional information on the crash was not immediately available.
