DUBOIS — One driver was ticketed after trucks collided Thursday east of the Dubois Crossroads.
Timothy H. Terwiske, 64, Celestine, was westbound on State Road 56 in a 2016 International when the 1 p.m. mishap occurred 1,500 feet east of County Road 575E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Terwiske told a deputy he observed an eastbound 2015 Freightliner semi tractor with no trailer left of center partially in his lane at a hillcrest.
Terwiske said he moved as far to the right as he could but the eastbound truck struck his International’s driver-side mirror and the side of his dump bed near the rear of the bed.
The eastbound Freightliner continued on and was stopped by an Indiana State Police trooper in French Lick. The driver, Timothy R. Elliott, 58, Jasper, was released after a deputy met with him and issued a ticket for driving left of center.
Total damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
