Driver ticketed after SUV-vs-motorcycle accident

JASPER — Police ticketed a motorist after an SUV-versus-motorcycle accident late Sunday afternoon.
Walter Jordan IV, 25, Schnellville, was stopped on Bartley Street at West Sixth Street on a 2006 Honda CBR motorcycle at the time of the 5:55 p.m. accident, according to the Jasper Police Department.
Police said Jordan’s Honda was struck by a 2007 Toyota Highlander driven by Chris Crays, 47, Ferdinand, as Crays turned left from Sixth Street to go northbound on Bartley Street. The Crays Toyota went left of center during the turn, police added.
Jordan suffered minor scrapes, according to police who said he was treated and released at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
An officer cited Crays for driving left of center.
