IRELAND — A Daviess County motorist received several tickets after a two-car collision Wednesday west of Ireland.
Francisco Medina, Washington, was eastbound on Old Petersburg Road in a 1995 Saturn passenger car when the 7:03 a.m. accident occurred in a 90-degree turn just north of State Road 56, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said the Medina Saturn failed to negotiate the curve, crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming 2014 Chrysler 300 driven by Hiram Nieve of Washington.
The collision totaled the Medina Saturn and resulted in damage to the Nieve Chrysler estimated between $1,000 and $3,000.
Both vehicles were towed by a Ruxer Ford wrecker.
After investigating, a deputy cited Medina for not having insurance, not having the car registered, driving left of center and driving while having never been licensed.
