IRELAND — Total damage exceeded $10,000 in a truck-versus-passenger car collision early Sunday afternoon in Ireland.
Colton A. Aders, 21, Jasper, was northbound on County Road 500W in a 2007 Chevrolet Impala, proceeding through the State Road 56 intersection on a green light, at the time of the 12:22 p.m. mishap, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said the Aders Impala was struck by an eastbound 2011 Chevrolet 2500 series truck driven by Chris M. Weisman, 46, Jasper.
Weisman told a deputy he looked down and, when he looked back up, the traffic signal was red.
Both vehicles stopped in the east end of the intersection and had air bag deployment.
The vehicle occupants refused medical attention.
Wreckers from Sternberg Automotive Group and Uebelhor & Sons assisted.
