Driver in rear-end collision jailed for OWIAugust 26, 2019

JASPER — A driver in a Sunday afternoon rear-end collision was jailed after police alleged she was impaired.
The Jasper Police Department was called at 5:42 p.m. to the mishap at Sixth and Newton streets.
Police alleged Deanna L. Emory, 60, 7633 S. U.S. 231, Huntingburg, exhibited signs of impairment and had open containers in the 2008 Toyota RAV4 she had been driving.
Emory was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center where her blood alcohol content test .298% after a blood draw.
Authorities booked Emory into the Dubois County Security Center at 9:44 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated. Police also cited Emory for an open container violation and for following too closely.
