From Local Sources

FERDINAND — The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office took a motorist into custody after being called Saturday evening to the report of a single-vehicle accident east of Ferdinand.

A deputy responding to the 6:13 p.m. report located a vehicle on its side on the west side of County Road 540E north of County Road 1150S. The driver, Bryan A. Lubbehusen, 56, 10950 S. 540E, Ferdinand, told the deputy he had swerved to avoid a deer.

The sheriff’s office alleged Lubbehusen exhibited signs of intoxication and had a blood alcohol content that tested .13% in a certified test at the Jasper Police Station.

Authorities booked Lubbehusen into the Dubois County Security Center at 8:51 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated. Lubbehusen posted bond Sunday morning.
