From Local Sources
DUBOIS — An Orange County motorist escaped injury when the car she was driving ran off a curve south of Dubois on Monday evening.
Ashley N. Ashby, 17, French Lick, was westbound on County Road 300N in a 2010 Saab when the 6:51 p.m. mishap occurred west of Jasper-Dubois Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Ashby, who was not familiar with the area, was following her GPS and failed to notice a curve in time, according to a deputy. Her Saab went off the north side of the roadway and down a slight embankment before stopping after running into a fence.
Total damage was estimated to have exceeded $10,000.
A Uebelhor & Sons wrecker assisted.
