Driver cited in minivan-vs-pickup collisionMay 31, 2019
From Local Sources
JASPER — Police ticketed a motorist after a minivan-versus-pickup-truck collision Wednesday afternoon at Kellerville Road and Cherry Street.
Malia Wright, 26, Jasper, was westbound on Cherry Street in a 2005 Mercury Monterey at the time of the 1 p.m. mishap, according to the Jasper Police Department.
Police said Wright failed to stop at a stop sign and her minivan struck the driver’s-side quarterpanel of a southbound 2007 Toyota Tundra driven by Nicholas Grothouse, 31, Jasper.
Both vehicles sustained front-end damage, police said without estimating a dollar value.
Wright and Grothouse declined emergency medical services at the scene, although both indicated they might seek medical assistance if problems persisted, police reported.
An officer cited Wright for disregarding a stop sign and driving while suspended (prior) after the collision.
