JASPER — Police ticketed a Pike County motorist after a car-versus-pickup-truck accident Tuesday afternoon at 43rd Street and Covington Lane.
Mikalyn F. Warner, 17, Petersburg, was southbound on Covington Lane in a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt at the time of the 4:46 p.m. mishap, according to the Jasper Police Department.
Police said Warner stopped at 43rd Street but then attempted a left turn and pulled her Cobalt into the path of a westbound 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Stacy L. Schipp, 45, Birdseye.
Damage was estimated at $5,000 to each of the vehicles.
An officer cited Warner for failure to yield the right of way.
