Driver arrested after early morning accident

JASPER — Police arrested a driver in a three-vehicle injury accident early today, accusing her of being impaired.
The Jasper Police Department was dispatched to 1426 Jackson St. at 3:28 a.m. in reference to a report of a three-vehicle accident with injuries.
Police allege Joanna Calderon, 19, 1438 Mill St., Jasper, was intoxicated on marijuana and alcohol when she was driving a 2000 Honda Civic. Calderon and a female passenger were transported to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center for treatment of injuries after the accident, police added.
The other two vehicles involved in the accident were parked and unoccupied at the time, police said.
Officers reported finding prescription pills inside the Calderon Honda.
Police said Calderon was treated and released at the hospital. She was then booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 8:41 a.m. on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony operating while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury and unlawful possession of a legend (prescription) drug and misdemeanor operating while intoxicated.
