From Local Sources
CELESTINE — A motorist was airlifted for treatment of injuries sustained in a Saturday night rollover and ejection crash on Celestine’s east side.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call notifying deputies of an accident near the 6900 block of State Road 164 just after 10 p.m.
A caller said a vehicle had rolled multiple times with the driver being ejected, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies, paramedics and Celestine first responders arrived, treated an 18-year-old male at the scene and transported him to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
The victim was then airlifted to an Evansville facility for more medical evaluation, according to the sheriff’s office.
Police say alcohol and a high rate of speed may have factored into the accident, which is under investigation.
Indiana State Police assisted with accident reconstruction.
Also assisting were the Celestine Volunteer Fire Department, Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services and a Uebelhor & Sons wrecker.
