HUNTINGBURG — Police arrested a motorist early Sunday after being called to investigate an accident.
The Huntingburg Police Department was called at 3:57 a.m. to the report of a leaving-the-scene accident in the 400 block of 12th Street.
Police, who obtained information on a suspect in the incident, located Frank C. Altmeyer, 44, 302 First Ave., in the 300 block of First Avenue behind the wheel of the 2001 Dodge Durango believed to have been involved in the accident.
Police allege Altmeyer’s blood alcohol content tested .184% in a certified test at the Huntingburg Police Station.
Authorities booked Altmeyer into the Dubois County Security Center at 6:09 a.m. Sunday on preliminary misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated and failure to stop after an accident. He posted bond Sunday evening.
