JASPER — A Friday afternoon report of a domestic altercation resulted in a man’s arrest on multiple preliminary charges.
The Jasper Police Department reports being contacted by a third-party caller at 4 p.m. who reported a female was distraught and a male was being physical with her.
Police say the suspect, Dustin J. Jones, 34, 215 W. Seventh St., Jasper, had already left the residence on foot when officers arrived. Police apprehended Jones several hours later as he was trying to return to the house.
Authorities booked Jones into the Dubois County Security Center at 9:03 p.m. Friday on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony domestic battery, strangulation and intimidation, plus misdemeanor interference with the reporting of a crime.
