DNR officer makes boating-while-intoxicated arrest

From Local Sources

PATOKA LAKE — A Department of Natural Resources conservation officer made a boating-while-intoxicated arrest Saturday afternoon at Patoka Lake.

Terry R. Jones, 50, Montgomery, was arrested after a conservation officer made contact with him at 5:57 p.m. near the Patoka Lake dam in an area known as the party cove because Jones allegedly failed to display registration numbers on the 25-foot Triton pontoon boat he was operating.

Authorities said Jones’ blood alcohol content later tested .17 percent at the Jasper Police Station.

Jones was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 7:32 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of boating while intoxicated. He posted bond Sunday morning.
