Disturbance report leads to OWIJuly 7, 2020

JASPER — A Monday night report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance at a north-side restaurant resulted in an impaired driving arrest.
The Jasper Police Department was called to the McDonald’s restaurant at 4130 Newton St. at 9:49 p.m.
Responding police report seeing Daniel J. Hinkofer, 27, 268 W. 41st St., Jasper, drive a 2005 Ford Mustang into a concrete trash can and knock it over while parking.
Police who detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle said Hinkofer’s blood alcohol content later tested .178% in a certified test at the Jasper Police Station.
Authorities booked Hinkofer into the Dubois County Security Center at 11:53 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated.
