JASPER — A report of a disturbance late Friday afternoon in the 1200 block of St. Charles Street resulted in a man’s arrest on multiple charges.
Jasper Police Department officers arrived at 5:40 p.m. to find two males at the scene had been separated after a verbal and physical altercation.
Police said one of those involved, Luke M. Metzger, 47, Jasper, reportedly sent threatening text messages prior to the altercation and had been reported to have operated a 2013 Kymco scooter recklessly while en route to the St. Charles Street neighborhood.
Metzger, who exhibited signs of intoxication, reportedly had a blood alcohol content that tested .177% at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
Authorities booked Metzger into the Dubois County Security Center at 9:49 p.m. on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony operating while intoxicated (prior), and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, battery, intimidation, possession of marijuana and criminal recklessness. Metzger posted bond Saturday night.
