Devin Schaefer of Ferdinand and Tyler Schnell of Celestine exchanged wedding vows at 2 p.m. on Aug, 1, 2020, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand. The Mass was officiated by Father Anthony Govind and Deacon James King.
The bride is the daughter of Kent and Lynne Schaefer of Ferdinand. The groom is the son of Dave and Myra Schnell of Celestine. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bride’s entourage included matron of honor, Erin Thewes, sister of the bride, and maid of honor, Mariah Schaefer, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Ashley Schaefer, Morgan Seng, Whitney Weidenbenner, Chloe Blessinger, Cassie Fromme, Demi Jahn and Candi Gehlhausen.
The best men were Derek Fischer and Cole Knies, friends of the groom. The groom also had groomsmen Brandon Seng, Chad Schaefer, Brandon Schaefer, Damon Thewes, Daniel Underhill, Jacob Verkamp and Austin Hauser. Ushers were Brock Hopf and Luke Howard.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Traci Catt and Leslie Luebbehusen.
The bride wore a lace fit-and-flare Essence of Australia gown featuring a sweetheart neckline and an open V-back. Organic lace trim highlights the back of the gown while it zips up beneath crystal buttons. Bridesmaids wore slate blue, floor-length dresses.
The bride is a 2014 graduate of Forest Park High School and a 2017 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana. She is a registered respiratory therapist at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. The groom is a 2010 graduate of Dubois High School and a 2012 graduate of Ivy Tech. He is an apprentice lineman at Dubois REC. The couple resides in Celestine.
A reception was held at Ferdinand Community Center.
