From Local Sources
HUNTINGBURG — The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office worked a truck-versus-guardrail accident south of Huntingburg Monday evening.
The 7:30 p.m. accident at U.S. 231 and County Road 1000S was precipitated when a westbound 2015 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Tyler S. Bolen, 18, Santa Claus, stopped at the county road’s intersection with the highway and tried to proceed westbound, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Bolen’s car drove into the lane of travel of a southbound 2000 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jordan K. Hedinger, 27, Dale, according to the sheriff’s office.
Hedinger swerved to miss the car and his truck drove over a guardrail end and into a cornfield.
Bolen told a deputy his view out his window had been blocked by part of his car.
Total damage was estimated to have exceeded $2,500.
