Deputy works Crystal car-vs-deer accident

CRYSTAL — A Dubois man’s car sustained damage in a Thursday morning collision with a deer east of Crystal.

Glen T. O’Brian, 40, Dubois, was westbound on State Road 56 in a 2007 Honda Civic when the 5:11 a.m. accident occurred 1,500 feet west of County Road 900E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy estimated O’Brian’s Honda sustained between $1,000 and $2,500 in damage when it collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the north.

The Honda was able to be driven from the scene and O’Brian escaped injury.
