Deputies make domestic battery arrest

MALTERSVILLE — A Thursday night call about a residential disturbance resulted in a man’s arrest.
Dubois County Sheriff’s Office deputies responding to the 9:06 p.m. call found two males with visible injuries and were told a verbal argument had evolved into a physical altercation. Police said children had been present.
After investigating, deputies arrested James C. Schildge, 38, 2864 S. State Road 162, Huntingburg, on a preliminary Level 6 felony count of domestic battery.
Prior to being booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 12:13 a.m. today, Schildge was treated at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center for injuries. Authorities said his blood alcohol content tested .21%.
A Department of Natural Resources conservation officer and Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services also assisted.
