Jasper Mayor Terry Seitz officiated at the marriage of Denise Lechner and Kurt Bleemel, both of Harlem, Ga., Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, in Lemmons Church, Otwell. The ceremony took place at 3 p.m.
The bride is the daughter of Tim and Janet Lechner, 463 S. Meridian Road, Jasper. Mr. Bleemel is the son of Kathy Burnett, Evans, Ga., and the late Richard Bleemel.
Readers were Jay R. Brockman, brother-in-law of the bride; Kristin Fest, friend of the couple; and Kelly Cooksey, sister of the bridegroom.
Angie Brockman, St. Meinrad, was matron of honor for her sister. Also attending the bride were Meredith Voegerl, Lori Wigand, Amanda Beck, Kristen Ruhe and Crystal Eckert, Jasper, and Melody Hoffman, Indianapolis, friends, and Michelle Elliot, Celestine, cousin of the bride.
The bridegroom chose his brother, Rick Bleemel, Krugersville, Texas, as best man. Groomsmen were Scot Harris of Huntingburg, Craig Heim of Velpen, Brandon Padgett and Josh Schnarr of Jasper, Brian Hoffman of Ireland and Chad Ferons of Martinez, Ga., friends, and Steve Kalb, Dubois, cousin of the bridegroom. Eli Brockman, St. Meinrad, nephew and godchild of the bride, was ring bearer.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown of white gossamer with a dropped waist and floral appliques. She carried a bouquet of white calla lilies with purple throats, purple lisianthus, lavender roses, chocolate cosmos, silver king foliage and yellow button mums with ivory satin ribbon.
The bridesmaids were attired in one-shoulder gowns of charcoal grey gossamer with fabric flowers. They carried bouquets similar to the bride’s with eggplant satin ribbon.
A reception was held at The Polo Room in Jasper. Lauren Schuler and Abby Wilmes, cousins of the bride, registered guests.
The couple is at home at 1449 Clary Cut Road, Harlem, Ga., after a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
The bride graduated from Jasper High School and Indiana State University. She is a registered nurse in the emergency room at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga. Mr. Bleemel graduated from Jasper High School and Nashville Auto Diesel College. He is a lieutenant firefighter and emergency medical technician for Columbia County Fire Rescue, Evans, Ga.
