Della M. Swain, 81, Petersburg
January 4, 2021Della M. Swain, 81, of Ferdinand, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at The Waters of Huntingburg. She was born on September 14, 1939 in Bowman, IN to William and Marguerite (Sharp) Mallory. She grew up in Gibson County, living in Somerville and Mackey, before moving to Petersburg where she lived most of her life. She was a homemaker and enjoyed time with her family and gospel music. She also enjoyed listening to her brother-in-law, Albert Swain play his fiddle.

Della is survived by her children, Marla Berger (Terry) of Ferdinand and Roger Swain of Evansville; grandsons, Joshua Swain and Andrew Swain, both of Evansville; 4 great grandchildren; and sister, Linda Schmidt of Evansville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Herbert Swain in 2009; and 9 brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. CST on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City with Rev. Chalmer Burden officiating. Burial will follow at Somerville Cemetery in Somerville. Visitation will be on Thursday from noon until the hour of service at the funeral home. Due to state mandated COVID-19 regulations, the number of people inside the funeral home during visitation and service is limited to 25 people with masks and social distancing required.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pike County PAWS, 4224 N. Meridian Rd., Petersburg, IN 47567. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
