Deer whams into pickup’s door

JASPER — No injury was reported after a deer ran into the side of a pickup truck Friday evening north of Jasper.

Shannon K. Kasinger Clark, 42, Loogootee, was southbound on Portersville Road in a 2017 GMC Sierra when the 6:25 p.m. accident occurred north of County Road 600N, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy said a deer did significant damage to both passenger-side doors and the truck’s bed when it ran onto the roadway from the west.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
