Deer-vs-SUV collision results in damage

FERDINAND — No injuries were reported when a deer collided with an SUV Thursday morning north of the Ferdinand State Forest.

Linda G. Rice, 55, Ferdinand, was northbound on County Road 600E in a Buick Enclave when the 7:54 a.m. accident occurred 500 feet south of County Road 750S, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy said Rice’s SUV collided with a deer that ran onto the roadway from the east.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
