Deer, truck depart accident scene

JASPER — A pickup truck and a deer both made it away from an accident scene late Sunday night south of Jasper.

Loren A. Brahm, 75, Ferdinand, was southbound on State Road 162 in a 2002 Dodge Dakota when the 11:12 p.m. accident occurred near County Road 230S, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy said the Brahm Dakota struck a deer that came onto the highway from the east.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.

The truck was able to drive from the scene, and the deputy was unable to locate the deer.
