JASPER — A wrecker was needed after a deer-versus-minivan collision Wednesday evening north of Jasper in the Opel Bottoms.
Starla R. Rothgerber, 45, St. Anthony, was northbound on U.S. 231 in a 2005 Toyota Sienna when the 7:56 p.m. accident occurred near County Road 600N, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Rothgerber’s minivan collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the west.
The vehicle sustained extensive damage to its front, passenger side, with damage estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
A Berg’s Garage wrecker assisted.
