HUNTINGBURG — A deer continued on after a Thursday morning collision with a car just southwest of Huntingburg.
John S. Reutepohler, 59, Huntingburg, was northbound on Old Road 64 in a 2013 Ford Fusion when the 6:42 a.m. accident occurred 500 feet south of County Road 630S, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
A deputy said Reutepohler was navigating a curve when a deer came from a bean field to the west and into his lane of travel.
Damage to the Fusion owned by the City of Huntingburg was estimated at $4,500.
A deputy said the deer continued on and ran into woods east of the accident scene.
