Deer collision leaves front-end damage

CELESTINE — An SUV-versus-deer collision Monday morning south of Celestine resulted in damage to the vehicle involved but no injury to the driver.

Mariah I. Storer, 25, Celestine, was northbound on Celestine Road North in a 2013 GMC Terrain when the 7 a.m. accident happened south of State Road 545, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy said Storer’s GMC sustained passenger-side headlight assembly and front quarter-panel damage estimated to have exceeded $5,000 in a collision with two deer that came onto the roadway from the east.

Storer was able to drive the SUV from the scene.
