BRETZVILLE — A Ferdinand man’s car sustained damage in a Monday morning collision with a deer south of Bretzville.
Gary W. Saylor, 57, Ferdinand, was northbound on State Road 162 in a 2014 Kia Soul when the 6:30 a.m. accident occurred 500 feet north of Old Road 162, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
Saylor’s Kia collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the west. Saylor continued on to his workplace and contacted the sheriff’s department.
A deputy said there was damage to the Soul’s front bumper and headlight area. Additional damage was found down the driver’s side of the car, and the vehicle’s driver’s door would not open, according to the sheriff’s department.
The damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
