Deer collision damages truck

BRETZVILLE — No wrecker was needed after a deer-versus-pickup-truck collision late Tuesday morning north of the Bretzville Junction.
Courtney L. Shake, 25, Jasper, was northbound on State Road 162 in a 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 series when the 11:22 a.m. accident occurred near Fairgrounds Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said the Shake truck’s front passenger side collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the east.
Damage to the truck, including its passenger-side headlight assembly, was estimated at $1,000 to $2,500.
