Deer collides with Pike County woman’s car

IRELAND — A Pike County motorist was able to drive from the scene of a Friday night car-versus-deer collision at Ireland.
Sydney M. Hoffman, 18, Otwell, was westbound on State Road 56 in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala when the 10:10 p.m. accident occurred at County Road 550W, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Hoffman’s car collided with a deer that came onto the roadway from the north.
Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
Hoffman was not injured.
